Sealing a carton and marking a floor are both tape jobs, but they fail in different ways. A carton tape has to tear by hand and hold under load; a floor tape has to lie flat, come in colours that mean something and lift without taking the surface with it. These two products cover the pair.
What to compare
- Hand tear against dispenser — No.145 is a 0.31 mm kraft cloth tape that tears by hand, so a carton can be sealed without a dispenser. No.365 is an olefin film marking tape, applied flat to a floor.
- Strength — No.145 carries 186.3 N/25 mm tensile strength, 10.79 N/25 mm adhesion and 10% elongation, which is what a carton seal is asked to hold.
- Colour range — No.145 comes in twelve colours; No.365 comes in white, yellow, red, blue, green and orange, which is what allows colour-coded zones.
- Residue — No.365 uses a low-VOC adhesive that does not leave a hard-to-remove residue when the marking is changed.
Typical applications
- No.145 for sealing cartons by hand where a dispenser is not available.
- No.145 for bundling and light repairs around a packing bench.
- No.365 for lanes and hazard zones in a warehouse.
- No.365 for 5S floor layouts where zones are colour-coded.
