EMI copper foil tape and metal conductive tape: the same roll, two requests
Buyers ask for this tape two ways. "EMI copper foil tape" is the shielding request — line a cavity, wrap a cable, stop a radiated field. "Metal conductive tape" is the grounding request — bond a point to chassis, carry current, solder a tab. No.8323 is specified for both: copper foil at 0.07 mm with a conductive acrylic adhesive, so it conducts along the surface and through the thickness.
If your drawing specifies a plated foil
Nickel-plated, tin-plated and gold-plated copper foil appear in EMI drawings for corrosion resistance, solderability or contact stability — not for better shielding. We supply plain rolled copper, so a plated callout is not a like-for-like swap. Read plated copper foil for EMI shielding before substituting.
